So I had every intention of sewing up these little girlies at the beginning of last week!! Ah well!! Better late than never they say...

Holidays again...sewing time

So it's been AGES since my last post! Just have had other things going on. But the good old school holidays always bring out the sewing bug. Today I've chosen to make some mermaids. These lovely little piles of colour will hopefully become mermaids very quickly. Yet as I type the little man has finished his sleep...

More dollies

I've got the sewing bug again. Really enjoying getting the sewing machine & material out again. Harry loves rolling in all the scraps!! These are the 2 latest girls that I've made.

Really hoping that over the holidays I can look into making some boys and wool hairstyles :)

Sewing again

This lovely lady I whipped up yesterday for a lady at work to give to a new bubby. I love the combination of the colours. I fell in love with the material I used for the body.

Wedding folder

So I'm going to be a matron of honour for my best friends wedding. I thought I'd start off my duties by making her a folder for all her wedding organising

Yellow wall, white walls

So the painting is now finished and these pictures won't do the awesome yellow colour any justice, because the real thing looks amazing! So pleased with how it looks. Now to move all my junk back in!

Harry at the beach

In the last weekend of January, we took Harry to the beach for the first time. The first time was at a beach with quite large waves and the second time was at a calmer beach. He seemed to be really only interested in eating the sand!   

   

New Cupboards

Also during the new year period, preventing me from beginning any sewing, we had some new cupboards installed. What used to be a room that was once converted into a passage way due to extensions out the back before we moved in, has now been made into floor to ceiling cupboards along one wall and a study/sewing nook for me :)

Classroom displays

WOW! I've been out of action for a while because so many other things have been happening. Mostly I've been getting ready to go back to school. I haven't worked since June last year after having Harry and getting back into it was a hard slog, but I got there in the end. Check out some of the displays that I put up in my classroom. I'm job sharing with a gorgeous teacher and only working 2 days a week which will save me lots of time to make dollies!! YEAY

 Our through line for the whole school this year is 'Be Inspired'. So one night while I was watching the tennis, I was inspired until 12.30am cutting out laminated sheets of paper to create a heading for our classroom.

 As we are feeling inspired this year, I thought a great motto was "Kid you'll move mountains", which is from the Dr.Seuss book, 'Oh, the places you'll go'. So for our class display, we decided to show ourselves moving mountains. The kids had a ripper time drawing themselves pretending to push, pull or carry the mountain.

A little peak into my classroom, where I've hung paper lanterns and fans. There is also another bunch over in to the far right to balance it out.

I'm famous!

Well, not really. Just for a few seconds or so and to anyone that reads Real Living Magazine!! I had sent them a 'handy hint' to feature on their 'handy hints page' and it made it into the magazine!! Was a little bit excited in the supermarket last night when doing grocery shopping. I think the lady in the same isle must have thought I don't get out that much and was excited to open a magazine!

Been a little busy, sorry

So it's been a little bit since my last post. Spent a lot of time at home organising the house and preparing to have new cupboards built by my dad and poppa. Daniel and I also spent the last weekend in the city to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.... (And no, not 10 years of marriage which totally threw people when they calculated that we'd have got married when we were 16 and 17).. But 10 years since we've been together.

 I found my name on one of the lists in the Myer Christmas Windows. My name is never on anything!! I was always one of those kids who never got a drink bottle, or bowl with their name on it, because it just wasn't popular enough.

Harry's name appeared on a list too, so we gathered that the lists must have been for all the nice people as Daniel's wasn't there!!
